Asthma is respiratory disease in which the bronchial passages get constricted and mucus lining swells. This obstructs breathing and is often caused by an allergy to dust animal far or feathers moulds and pollen.
The frequency and severity of asthma symtomps vary from person to person. A typical attack being at night with caughing, wheezing and shortness of breath, which usually subside after a few hours, with a change to moist cough that brings up large amounts of mucus. Attacks may recur in hours or days or may be absent for months or even years.
Asthma attacks can be treated or prevented by a variety of drugs, such as inhalers.
But severe asthma can also result is death.
